Welcome to Art by Meral

Although being exposed to various forms of art, Meral expresses herself best in watercolors.

Her interest in art and her achievements started very early, but she began painting seriously in 1983 in Canada. Since then she attended numerous courses and workshops with distinguished artists and participated in group shows and juried exhibitions. Most recently, her painting “Birch Trees on Snow” was selected by McMichael Gallery juried show of “Views from Pine Cottage” exhibition.

Meral’s interest in visual arts is also reflected in her involvement with several art associations and galleries. She has been the past president of the Board of Trustees in the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, past president of the Oshawa Art Association and member of the Visual Arts Ontario. A Selection of her current paintings are displayed on the website of the Women’s Art Association of Canada.

During 2006 to 2017 Meral worked in New York and expanded her involvement in Art through art courses and group exhibits in New York Academy of Art, Visual Art Center of NJ and “The Pen and Brush” Art Organization that is dedicated to Women’s art since 1804.

Upon her return to Canada, she joined Women’s Art Association of Canada and many other art organizations to dedicate more of her time to her passion for painting.

Meral’s affection for the beauty of the nature is reflected in her paintings through realistic landscapes, colourful florals and especially ethnic Turkish rugs and copper pots.

Her paintings hang in many public and private collections in Canada, US and Europe.
